CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA:

"Mono Grande": A larger than normal unknown species of primate reported in South America.


Argentina:

Argentina: A farmer somewhere in Argentina reportedly watched as a UFO passed overhead. To everyone's surprise, he had some temporary bad effects, like his hair falling out, but then he starting growing new teeth(!). December 1972.

Atacama Desert: Something big left huge footprints in the snow on the mountains. 1956.

Bahia Blanca: An engineer saw a disc shaped UFO in a field by a highway. A door was open on the side and the engineer went inside. Inside he saw three small entities in a circular enclosure. They were dressed in coverall type clothing, about 4' tall with dark brown skin and yellowish eyes. All three were dead. He left and went to get more witnesses. When they got back, the craft was gone, but it (or a similar one) was overhead, which they got pictures of. The only evidence they got was some grayish dust, which they gave to the government. May 7, 1955.

Bajada Granda area: A student riding a motorcycle was attacked by something with a round head, white hair and three eyes. It grabbed the boy's collar, then turned away and left. July 28, 1962.

Buenos Aires Harbor: The Argentine Navy chased an unidentified underwater something; it wasn't an identifiable submarine, and presumably, they'd be able to identify a big fish. June 1959.

Cerro Del Valle, (San Juan): A man sleeping at a cousin's mica mine woke to see a "Beautiful woman" wearing some odd green mesh garment. She had odd (to say the least) feet: they had a snakes' head appearance, with eyes on the insteps! Sensibly, he ran off. When he returned later, she was gone, but the pile of sheepskins he'd been sleeping on appeared scorched-looking. 1953.

Chascomus: Dr. and Mrs. Gerardo Vidal were driving home from a family renunion in Chascomus, when they drove into a thick mist. They went unconscious for some reason; when they woke up, they were on a road near Mexico City, about 4,500 miles away. Great driving, great gas mileage! No date for this. (see Brazil, Sao Paulo).

Correa (near Rosario): A rancher discovered a dead cow near seven burned circular patches of grass. A few days later, funi the size of basketballs were growing there. Neighbors in the area saw strange lights in the sky around this time. October 14, 1968.

Gulf of San Matias: A truck driver claimed many people including himself, and seen luminous unidentified craft entering or leaving the sea, and that there was a UFO/USO base there. Early 1960's.

Nahuel Huapi Lake: Home of "Nahuelito" a lake monster seen here since at least 1922. Nahuelito has occasionally been visible for several minutes on the surface of the lake and has been sighted by scores of tourists and locals. Descriptions have varied from that of a giant water snake with humps and fish-like fins to a swan with a snake's head, the overturned hull of a boat, and the stump of a tree. Estimates of the creature's length range from 15 to 150 feet. Nahuelito is said to surface only in the summer, when the wind is still.

Puerto Garibaldi: Foil or tinsel fell from the sky around January 17, 1965.

Quilino (Cordoba): An Air Force man saw a UFO; he tried to draw his gun and was unable to. A voice from the UFO told him in Spanish not to be afraid; they had bases in the Salta Region and were here to warn people of the dangers of atomic energy. August 20, 1957.

 Rio Cuarto and Las Higueras: (Cordoba) A glowing UFO paced a local transit bus on the highway between Rio Cuarto and Las Higueras in Argentina.. It was described as luminous, bigger than a star and more brilliant, with a half moon shape. It had four rows of lights. November 25, 1997

Salta: Schoolchildren saw some small green beings, which chased or tried to catch them. October 4, 1965.



Bolivia:

Lake Origuere: Gigantic 'fish' capsizing canoes here

Oruro: A radio tech was abducted by a UFO, and he was examined. August 15, 1980.


Brazil:

Araguari River (Amapa): Many people saw a UFO rise from the river, hover and fly away. November 1980.

Barra Da Tijuca: Another UFO sighting, photographs were taken. May 7, 1952.

Bauru: A 150 foot disc-shaped UFO landed, standing on three legs. Three 7 foot tall beings tried to get a witness inside. He ran and hid and watched as they threw huge stones and jumped around. July 23, 1947.

Cocpava area: It rained meat and blood for five minutes on August 27, 1968.

Cordilhiera dos Perecis: An explorer ran into 'savages' who were barely beyond the level of beasts: 'enormous, hairy," but capable of using bows and arrows. The local people called the "Maricoxis." 1914.

Fernando De Noronha: A sea monster was seen off this island. It's head was about cow-sized, it's body about 30 feet long. 1905.

Francisco De Sales, Minas Gerais: a farmer was taken on board a UFO, undressed, and blood samples taken. A female entity made advances to him, he responded and they had sex. They then let him leave the UFO. October 14, 1957.

Joao Pessoa: Beans rained from the sky, June 1971.Manuos, Amazon River: A traveller going through here reportedly saw five 'birds' with leathery bodies and wings. February 1947.

Mato Grosso: Reports here of a humanoid creature known as a Mapinguary; which kills cattle and pulls out their tongues.

Minduri: Two giants about 18 feet tall, dressed in red, were seen (from behind) as they walked up a hill. August, 1958.

Peropava River: A disc-shaped UFO plunged into the river, October 31, 1963.

Piata Beach: A witness saw a UFO over the ocean. He took photographs, and he entered a trance. He came back with a message to end atomic testing. April 24, 1959.

Pontal: A fisherman saw a UFO land. Three small entities came out to collect leaves, grass and water in a tube. November 4, 1954.

Porto Das Caixas: In a church, a 300 year old life-sized statue of Christ on the cross dripped human blood. Miracle cures followed. January 1968 to 1978.

Rio Grande do Sul: A Brazilian couple on their honeymoon was driving when they became drowsy, apparently fell asleep. When they woke up, they were in Mexico. This is great gas mileage! 1968. (see also Sao Paulo)

Rio de Janeiro: 100 miles north of Rio, fishermen reported two sightings of a sea monster with a long neck and dark green scales. It was about 100 feet long. August, 1982.

Rio Negro: An explorer killed a 62 foot long anaconda here in 1907.

Sao Paulo: Marcilo Ferraz was driving with his wife from Sao Paulo to Uruguay. Near the border they drive into a white cloud, and apparently went to sleep. When they woke up, they were in Mexico. (see Argentina, Chascomus) No date for this.

Uberlandia, Minais Gerais: A large UFO was sighted passing over the power station. The automatic power switches kicked themselves on. The Chief Engineer closed them again. They opened themselves again. When the UFO flew off, everything behaved in a normal manner. As it passed over a substation a few miles away, the power switches misbehaved there, too. August 17, 1959.


Chile:

Capiago: A UFO making noise and glowing was observed here in July 1868.

Pucon: Fuerzas Aereas de Chile's (Chilean Air Force's) crack aerobatics team, Los Halcones, was performing at an air show in when a UFO slipped into the restricted airspace. "The object was ring-like. It looked like a ring of smoke but very bright. It turned on its axis and left the area very slowly (about 60 mph), moving east. The object was filmed by two different witnesses, one of them the air traffic controller at Pucon. February 25, 1997.

Puerto Arenas: A teenager Maria Amparo Galvez was walking home from school when a glowing UFO suddenly appeared. Maria ran away and "was hit in the back by many small balls of light--flashes that peppered her back." Maria remembers nothing else of the strange incident except "waking up at another location four hours later." February 25, 1997

Santiago: Somwhere in Santiago, a six-inch-high porcelain statue [of the Madonna] began weeping tears of blood. The liquid staining the image is genuinely blood, and human at that. The Santiago coroner's office pronounced the substance is type O-4 human blood. The statue weeps regularly, particularly in the presence of children. I don't have an exact location, sorry. 4 December 1992, ongoing?


Columbia:

Anolaima: A UFO was seen here by 11 witnesses. One witness walked to within 20 feet and saw an alien being inside. Two days later he got sick and died; reportedly from gastroenteritis. July 4, 1969.

Lake Maracaibo (Columbia-Venezuela border): An expedition here by Francois de Loys, turned up a strange primate dubbed 'Mono Grande." In 1920, the expedition party was attacked by two primates, presumably a male and female pair and really pissed off. They were about 5 feet tall, and were swinging tree branches, and making angry noises. Then both urinated into their hands, and threw that at the party. The expedition retaliated by shooting one (apparently a female), and the other, wounded, fled. The expedition lost the remains and only a photo survives. It's height was estimated at about 5'2" or 5'3", when the only native N. American primates are much smaller (Spider monkies measure in at 3'7" at the largest). 1920.

Costa Rica:

Sara Piqui: On the first Tuesday of every month, crowding the highways by bus and car, people travel to Sara Piqui to witness the appearance of the Virgin Mary in the sky. As well as this miraculous vision, sometimes glitter has suddenly manifested on the arms of the people present. It's real glitter-type stuff, you can pick it up. 1996, ongoing?

Ecuador:

Andes Mountains: 4-5 foot hairy hominoids locally called "Shiru" reported seen various times.

Andes Mountains: Explorer Pino Turolla saw a 'mono grande' (large, about 5 foot, unknown type of primate) while on expedition here. (around 1968?)

Guatemala:

Cubulco Area: "El Sisemite" (a wildman-type creature) rumored to be living in the mountains here. Apparently they are fond of kidnapping women, and have done so on several occasions.


Peru:

Arequipa: A little entity, about 32" inches tall with one eye was seen here, September 29, 1965. (see Puno and Pichaca)

Hunanaco Province: A student fell into a bog and was helped out by 4 little (3' tall) scaly entities. They had three fingers on their hands. January 1977.

Pichaca, (District of Puno): A shepherdess saw 6 entities between 32 and 36" tall come out of a landed UFO. They gave off flashes of light, and spoke in a cackling manner. September 20, 1965. (see Puno).

Puno: A boy saw seven beings, (one-eyed!) , a little under 3 feet tall. He ran to get his parents, and they then saw a bright light rising into the sky. (see Pichaca) September, 1965. 

Lake Titicaca: A 12' long water monster reported here, resembling a seal or manatee.

Venezuela:

Venezuela (unknown area) : It rained red, while and blue hailstones somewhere in Venezuela on April 17, 1886.

Venezuela (unknown area): Explorer Pino Turolla, was told by a guide that he and his son had been attacked by three 'mono grande' and his son had been killed. The explorer did his homework and came up with the Francois de Loys expedition picture (Lake Maracaibo, Columbia-Venezuela). The next trip, he showed the picture to his guide, who agreed that was a mono grande. Turolla later saw a pair of these creatures, about 5 feet tall, and running upright. 1968?
